everything has a value ...except a palestinian life

everything has a value ...except a palestinian life

February 19, 2012 at 7:02pm
The last  week was full of intense news. It couldn’t be more powerful than the death of ten or five or even one child .In the midst of a freezing weather and driving  in roads that appear to be intended for fatality .And a government that is invented to resign .And a government that should be formed . And a corrupted minister here , and a tarnished minister there. And  a minister who uses appalling vocabulary on air and a minister who is caught up in exchange blows with his consultant.  And a ministry with sexual harassment cases and God and the people know more and more hidden and unhidden scandals and disgrace. When the President of Germany resigns over what he described as  «the lack of trust from the necessary majority of the population» because the justice authorities suspected corruption to be involved.
And  his minister of defense resigns over wrong citations (plagiarism in respectful countries means)  in his PhD . And here on the ENEMY’s side , the chief of staff of PM office resigns on accusations of sexual harassment .Not only that he resigns, but he will never work in civil services for the rest of his life.. The topic of the tragic accident of last week remains of uppermost peak in my mind.
It  is not anymore about inquiring on  the unchanged questions we all ask over ,and we never obtain answers for , such as ; who is responsible, what should have been done, how to avoid, who to blame and what to do next .
It is not about the disparaging media role, frankly, I feel daunting the word media on what we have in this country. It is like everything else, imitated, forged, falsified, not serious , engraved context and tabloids news that dishes up gossipers and political figures’ moods here and there .
It is not about blaming the occupation scenarios. The Zionist truck (but Palestinian driver) who caused the accident .And not the OCCUPATION Army that blocked people from helping (regardless to the fact that people were causing more nuisance and tragedy to the disaster by being there watching ) .
What has been really exasperating, infuriating and real heartrending is what came about next . Those lives that have been vanished and lost. The children that have to carry on their lives with burns and scars (if they are lucky they are admitted to the occupation hospitals , otherwise, God only knows the calamity of their sustained life) .
It is as usual how our CHIEFS act or react. The life of those children, as is the situation with our lives as Palestinians has no real value. The price of life ends with a cup of coffee, and in this case an statement of commiseration and a visit to the fatalities families. And maybe some charitable money and opening a commiseration tent.
In a respectful society, governments resign when such a disaster takes place. In our state, not even a solitary query was open. As an alternative ,and on an audible range our President and our PM declared their sympathy and support to the people and families. Registered  those kids as martyrs ,and that day as catastrophic which is true . We wanted them to at least force those directly involved to immediate resignation and investigation : minister of transportation(who is responsible for our streets, and I know it is area c, but by the time an ambulance need to arrive from area a or b , it will be in the middle of messy suicidal roads), minister of planning (those big terms we have been earshot about strategic planning and plans, about crisis management (this one makes me laugh) ,about financing , what was his plans for those roads, for those drivers, for those cars ,how many ambulances did he assign , how many fire cars and departments or stations do we have), minister of coordination (we have such a ministry , isn’t their role is to work on coordination on issues like area c and such things, or is it just about issuing magnetic permits to their VIPs), minister of health(how come injured and dead people get lost in hospitals, where are the medical centers ), minister of public work, minister of the wall, the mayor of Jerusalem  (I am sure there are more, we have lines of assigned ministers and positions with big titles) . Don’t these people know that they have other jobs rather than blaming the occupation and condemning the occupation and coordinating visits with the occupation and facilitating occupation. Their role is to serve people .To protect people .Not to serve their interests and their chairs.
It is only in such places inside the modern world, that people like us subsist. A place where everything has a price and a value except for a human life .It is so cheap and worthless , that can be compensated on a cup of coffee, and at most a three days commiseration and a visit to the hospital and the berieved…
